About the position

The Dishwasher at Waltonwood Lake Boone plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment, which is essential for delivering a high-quality culinary experience for residents. This position involves various cleaning tasks, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen floors, while adhering to sanitation standards. The Dishwasher works closely with the Culinary Supervisor and Culinary Service Director to ensure that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to a positive dining experience for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware, and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through the dish machine.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to the cook's line or other proper storage areas.
  • Wash certain pots, pans, trays, dishes, and utensils by hand with specified soap and water as directed by the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director.
  • Sweep kitchen floors, ensure the kitchen floor is sanitized, and take out the trash.
  • Mop stockrooms and report any hazardous situations in the kitchen to the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety standards.
  • Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Culinary Supervisor or Culinary Service Director.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of dish cleaning practices and dining etiquette.
  • Knowledge of proper food service sanitation techniques.
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of dishwashing experience preferred.
