The Dish Person at Houlihan's Restaurant and Bar is responsible for providing friendly and efficient service to guests while ensuring cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. This role involves maintaining dishroom operations, assisting kitchen staff, and performing various cleaning and organizational tasks to maximize guest satisfaction and uphold company standards.
Responsibilities
- Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies and performance standards.
- Maintains cleanliness of kitchen work areas, restaurant common areas, and utensils.
- Arranges soiled dishes, silverware, and glassware into washer trays.
- Pre-rinses all items to be washed and loads trays into the dishwasher.
- Removes dishes, silverware, and glassware from washer trays and stocks kitchen personnel and servers.
- Washes pots and pans in a 3 compartment sink and air dries dishes and utensils.
- Performs side work during shift downtime, including rolling silverware and cleaning work areas.
- Keeps the dish area and prep kitchen organized, swept, mopped, and dry.
- Assists kitchen staff with food preparation using safe food handling practices.
- Reports problems and proposes solutions to the General Manager or Manager on Duty.
Requirements
- Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service can be taught through in-house training.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
