About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Disability Support Worker – Mid to join our team! In this role you will get to facilitate and coordinate reasonable accommodations (RA) and personal assistance services (PAS) for the client civilian employees and applicants. This role is responsible for the intake and maintenance of RA cases, serving as a key point of initial contact for the workforce, maintaining compliance with all agency and regulatory guidance, and providing office support for employees with targeted disabilities.

Requirements

  • A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, or in lieu of a degree, 5 years of equivalent experience in a related role.
  • Highly developed critical thinking, problem-solving, customer support, and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to handle sensitive personnel information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • An active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Process reasonable accommodation requests in accordance with client and EEOC guidance.
  • Monitor RA mailbox, provide RA forms to employees and applicants, respond to RA RFIs, create case files with the RA databases, review intake documentation for completeness, make initial contact between the requestor and the RA Specialist, coordinate delivery of RA equipment to employees, and close case files, as needed or directed.
  • Maintain all case files and databases in accordance with agency guidance and standards.
  • Serve as a primary point of initial contact for employees, supervisors, and managers on reasonable accommodation.
  • Provide direct service to employees and applicants with targeted disabilities as needed, mainly as a back-fill for when an individual’s primary DSW is unavailable.
  • Note taking at meetings, keyboard mouse navigation, keyboard typing, data entry, holding and movement of materials, dialing and answering the telephone, lifting maps and charts, filing, and other general administrative tasks.
