Our growing Wealth & Family Office practice serves High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) families—primarily business owners, real estate families, and individuals navigating life events - such as separation/divorce, death of a spouse, and liquidity events. We are seeking a Director, Wealth and Family Office Advisory (CPA) to act as a senior relationship leader, trusted advisor, and business builder within our GTA practice. This is a client-facing, leadership role for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of advisory, tax, and entrepreneurship. As a Director in our Wealth and Family Office practice, you will serve as the primary relationship holder and financial quarterback for a portfolio of complex family relationships. You will own client engagements end-to-end, coordinate integrated advisory solutions across tax and specialist teams, and actively grow a personal book of business through a strong professional network. This role is ideal for a senior CPA who enjoys deep client relationships, commercial accountability, and long-term advisory impact, with clear runway toward executive visibility and partnership.

Requirements

  • CPA designation (Ontario) is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting, family office, or private client advisory.
  • Demonstrated experience advising HNW/UHNW families—particularly business owners and real estate-focused clients.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian private client tax planning concepts.
  • Proven ability to originate, grow, and sustain client relationships.
  • Established professional network within the Greater Toronto Area.
  • Executive presence with discretion and confidence when working with principals, spouses, and next-generation family members.
  • A commercial mindset balanced with long-term advisory integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary advisor and relationship owner for HNW and UHNW families.
  • Act as the family’s financial quarterback—integrating tax, accounting, advisory, and external professional advice into a cohesive strategy.
  • Lead discovery, planning, and ongoing advisory conversations across complex personal and corporate matters.
  • Build, manage, and grow a personal book of business with clear revenue milestones.
  • Originate new relationships through a strong GTA-based network of lawyers, private bankers, investment advisors, trustees, and other centres of influence.
  • Lead or co-lead client pitches, proposals, and onboarding.
  • Identify cross‑service opportunities while maintaining a client‑first, advisory-led approach.
  • Represent the firm at targeted industry events and thought‑leadership forums.
  • Provide oversight and strategic input across personal, corporate, and trust tax planning engagements in coordination with the firm’s tax group
  • Translate complex tax and structuring issues into practical, client-ready advice.
  • In collaboration with the firm's in-house tax group and financial planners, ensure alignment between tax strategy, financial planning, and each family’s long-term objectives.
  • Advise families with: Operating businesses and complex corporate structures, Significant real estate holdings (commercial, residential, mixed-use), Liquidity events such as business sales, partial exits, and recapitalizations
  • Coordinate planning before, during, and after major financial transitions.
  • Support succession, estate planning coordination, and intergenerational wealth transfer initiatives.
  • Mentor and develop Managers and Senior Managers within client teams.
  • Contribute to best practices for UHNW relationship management and family office delivery.
  • Support practice development initiatives, internal capability building, and quality standards.
