As a Director - U.S. Ethics & Compliance Advisor at Gilead, you will be responsible for acting as the key point of ethics and compliance support for relevant Gilead Commercial. You will partner with leaders across Legal, Commercial, Medical, and Clinical Development to build and integrate the compliance program into the US Gilead organization. This role requires knowledge and experience in practices related to interactions between commercial, medical affairs, and market access. You will invest time and effort in building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and cultivating a collaborative environment based on mutual respect and understanding. You will approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, respond promptly to inquiries, requests, or concerns raised by business stakeholders, and demonstrate a sense of urgency in addressing their needs while providing timely feedback. Fostering open and transparent communication channels with business stakeholders is key, clearly communicating requirements, explaining the rationale behind decisions, and providing regular updates on relevant changes or developments. You will continuously evaluate and improve internal processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in supporting the business in achieving company goals, minimizing unnecessary bureaucracy and simplifying workflows to facilitate smooth interactions. You will advise on and support the business and other key stakeholders in operationalizing compliance processes and executing within legal and compliance-related requirements. You will develop and deliver trainings and educational sessions to enhance ethics and compliance understanding among stakeholders, and recognize and assess healthcare compliance risks and develop associated mitigation controls to help address, as needed. You will partner as needed with the Privacy and Data Ethics team to operationalize requirements related to data privacy, information security, cyber laws, and industry codes. You will support compliance-related incident response processes with internal stakeholders and support and facilitate policy, training and communications, monitoring, risk assessments, due diligence, transparency, and other healthcare compliance needs. You will stay abreast of relevant ethics and compliance developments and industry trends, working in partnership with the Legal Business partners and other compliance teams to help ensure the organization operates within ethical and compliance frameworks. Additionally, you will lead, inspire, and develop the team, fostering a high-performance culture, and provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team’s capabilities and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • 12 years of relevant experience in compliance with a bachelor's degree or 10 years of relevant experience with a master's degree.
  • Experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in practices related to interactions between commercial, medical affairs and market access.

Responsibilities
