About the position

The Technology Consulting Director in Guidehouse’s State and Local Government Practice leads business development for technology pursuits, and leads delivery teams on high impact technology transformation State & Local Government client engagements. This role involves driving business development activities including RFP responses and proposal development, establishing approaches to gather information from clients regarding client structure, process, technology and culture, and facilitating meetings with client stakeholders to gather information. The Director will identify and implement overall program improvements for clients, effectively leverage project resources to accomplish tasks while providing regular feedback and coaching, and lead account planning to target new business opportunities that support relevant practice development goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development for technology pursuits.
  • Drive business development activities including RFP responses and proposal development.
  • Establish approaches to gather information from clients regarding client structure, process, technology and culture.
  • Facilitate meetings with client stakeholders to gather information.
  • Identify and implement overall program improvements for clients.
  • Effectively leverage project resources to accomplish tasks while providing regular feedback and coaching.
  • Lead account planning and target new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience selling, securing, and launching technology consulting projects.
  • Technology project management experience including overseeing junior and mid-level staff, defining project direction, and ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Critical thinking to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to client’s management, technology, and operational challenges.
  • 10+ years minimum of experience in technology consulting with at least 5 years experience in State & Local Government and/or Public Sector.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Strong professional network and/or experience in state and local government in Harrisburg, PA market.
  • Must currently reside within a reasonable number (50-60) of miles of Harrisburg, PA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to clients locations, GH Office locations and as needed to support business development activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree - MBA, Advanced engineering degree (or equivalent).
  • Experience in implementing technology and software such as low code/no code platforms, data management, and enterprise resource planning (public sector preferred).
  • Experience facilitating meetings and public speaking with large groups.
