About The Position

Lumentum is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Director, Talent Programs & Corporate Functions Recruiting to lead recruiting efforts for corporate functions while also driving enterprise talent programs that strengthen employee engagement, university relations, and community partnerships. Based in San Jose and reporting to the VP of Talent Acquisition, this role will serve as a senior talent partner to business leaders and will be responsible for delivering high-impact hiring outcomes across corporate business functions while leading strategic talent initiatives that enhance Lumentum’s employer brand and talent pipeline. This leader will drive recruiting strategy, build strong partnerships with executive stakeholders, and lead enterprise talent programs focused on early career engagement, employee experience, and community outreach. The Director will lead and develop a team of recruiters while working closely with TA Operations, HR Business Partners and business leadership to build scalable and impactful talent programs. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, relationship-building capability, operational discipline, and experience leading talent initiatives within complex global organizations.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, executive recruiting, or talent programs leadership.
  • 5+ years leading recruiting teams in complex, global organizations.
  • Experience supporting corporate functions and technical organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior executives.
  • Strong operational rigor and experience managing both specialized hiring and talent programs.
  • Experience delivering quarterly business reviews and talent insights to senior executives.
  • Experience recruiting globally and managing multi-region hiring strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in semiconductor, technology, or advanced engineering environments.
  • Experience leading university relations, internship, or early career programs.
  • Background recruiting leadership and corporate function talent.
  • Experience scaling recruiting teams and enterprise talent programs during growth periods.
  • Familiarity with Workday ATS and modern recruiting technologies.
  • Experience with AI recruiting tools a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruiting strategy and delivery for global corporate functions.
  • Develop and execute hiring plans aligned with business priorities and workforce planning.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality recruiting practices across regions and functions.
  • Provide leadership oversight for a team of recruiters responsible for delivering critical hires.
  • Lead key initiatives across Talent Attraction and employer branding.
  • Lead enterprise talent programs including: University Relations, Internship and Early Career Programs, Employee Engagement initiatives, Community partnerships and outreach programs.
  • Develop programs that strengthen Lumentum’s employer brand and long-term talent pipeline.
  • Build relationships with universities, professional organizations, and community partners.
  • Partner cross-functionally to create engaging employee and candidate experiences.
  • Support initiatives that strengthen employee connection, engagement, and retention.
  • Drive strong recruiting outcomes across key performance metrics.
  • Establish disciplined recruiting processes, interview frameworks, and hiring manager engagement.
  • Reduce dependency on external agencies through strong internal recruiting capability.
  • Ensure hiring processes align with compliance and company policies.
  • Serve as a key member of the Global TA Leadership team.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of recruiters across multiple geographies.
  • Foster a high-performance recruiting culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and results.
  • Partner with TA Operations to improve recruiter productivity and scalable processes.
  • Monitor talent supply, competitive hiring activity, and emerging skill requirements.
  • Inform leadership on labor market dynamics and potential talent risks.
  • Develop innovative approaches to attract early career and emerging talent.
  • Strengthen Lumentum’s visibility and reputation within key talent communities and universities.
