Our Philadelphia location is the largest in the Catalent Clinical Supply Services network, providing comprehensive clinical supply services for our customers, including clinical supply management and comparator sourcing, primary and secondary packaging, and storage and distribution. We also offer a variety of specialized services such as demand-led supply, direct-to-patient services (which includes an on-site pharmacy within our facility), and small-scale commercial packaging for advanced therapies. The Supply Chain function is responsible for all procurement, planning, inventory control, logistics, and distribution functions at Catalent, Philadelphia. The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing all activities and personnel within the Supply Chain function providing leadership for logistics, planning and procurement including the negotiation of maintenance supply agreements and new contracts. The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for coordinating and implementing activities to attain strategic objectives within the department and looks to his or her direct supervisor or other peers within the industry for guidance. In addition, the Director Supply Chain will establish goals and objectives, supervise work practices for direct reports, interprets and executes policies and procedures that typically affect organizational units. At the senior level, this position requires extensive independent judgment. Preferred candidates will have significant opportunity based on performance and demonstrated leadership to be considered for progressive leadership roles at a rapidly growing site and business unit. Responsibilities

  • Manage overall Supply Chain performance related to People, Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost (PSQDC) including but not limited to cGMP and OSHA compliance.
  • Manage the logistics and planning function to ensure optimal processing of customer orders.
  • Manage the procurement function to ensure coordinated and efficient supply of production (cost reduction programs and key supplier management).
  • Work closely with operations to develop production capacity plans and strategies for the medium and long term.
  • Ownership for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and actively contribute to the development and implementation of Catalent (Philadelphia) Logistics & Planning Strategy.
  • Provide leadership and direction in developing and implementation of improved processes for controlling material flow throughout the facility and drive cost reduction throughout the supply chain.
  • Negotiate and manage supply agreements and coordinate supply related items with customers.
  • Respond to requests for new business proposals from sales team and manage and host customer review meetings and customer interactions.

Requirements

  • BS degree: MBA Preferred
  • 7+ years' experience providing strategic and operational leadership in a customer driven planning and logistics environment. Prior experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech and CDMO industry is preferred.
  • Candidate must have experience managing warehouse management systems, and experience with ERP/MRP.
  • Significant experience managing people and providing both tactical and strategic leadership, and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Possesses the intellect, style and integrity that customer will perceive him/her as an expert who can resolve and anticipate their manufacturing and supply problems and with whom they would like to do business.
  • Has the ability and qualities to develop long-term customer relationships, at an international level across different cultures and the ability to work effectively under high pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
