About the position

The Director of Regional Payer Accounts at Bayer is responsible for leading customer engagement strategies and managing relationships with regional Payer and PBM customers. This role focuses on delivering profitable access, reimbursement, and appropriate policy for Bayer brands, while executing customer strategies and leveraging regional business expertise. The position requires innovative thinking to create business opportunities and drive long-term partnerships, ensuring alignment with national PBM wins and optimizing customer opportunities through collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer engagement strategies and manage regional Payer and PBM customer relationships.
  • Deliver profitable access, reimbursement, and appropriate policy for Bayer products at regional customer accounts.
  • Create innovative business opportunities to drive profitable short and long-term customer partnerships.
  • Provide deep insight into customer enterprise, policy, benefit, clinical evaluation, and legislation impact.
  • Accountable for driving outcomes and flawless execution of developed plans.
  • Navigate deep into the payer/PBM landscape and manage executive engagements.
  • Drive payer access across regional Payers through alignment of National PBM wins.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize customer opportunities.
  • Identify and monitor new or evolving market dynamics and their impact on customer systems.
  • Act as the regional point of contact and manage strategy across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • In-depth understanding of how Payer and PBM businesses operate and generate revenue.
  • Ability to identify future policies, practices, and trends with Payers and PBMs.
  • Strong business driver and marketplace focus when prioritizing actions.
  • Visionary thinking with the ability to articulate credible scenarios and actionable plans.
  • Ability to collaborate with regional Payers to align strategies and meet business objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and provide exceptional service.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA preferred.
  • Experience executing market access strategies for PBM and Payer accounts.
  • 10 years of related work experience in management roles in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 3 years of Managed Markets experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role or leading teams through influence.
