ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The position involves providing comprehensive multisite practice management to assigned locations, including daily staff and provider resource management. The role requires effective communication of standards and expectations with all staff and providers, leading by example, inspiring and motivating staff to achieve organizational objectives, and promoting individual growth and accountability. The individual will maintain appropriate staffing levels as hiring authority for assigned practices and ensure compliance with workplace policies. Visible leadership is essential, ensuring efficient practice performance through management of all operational aspects. The role includes implementing best practices, measuring and monitoring outcomes, and having a working knowledge of all practice-associated information systems. The individual will ensure throughput and scheduling templates maximize resources and will be familiar with regulatory aspects of Medicare, OSHA, HIPAA, etc. Coordination of activities necessary to render compliant, quality patient care and ensure optimal access is crucial. The position promotes patient satisfaction, safety, and commitment to the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process. Participation in the planning and developmental process is required, along with a thorough understanding of organizational strategy. The individual will assist with regional practice integration planning and support service line and product expansion in assigned practices as appropriate. Developing and maintaining proficiency with practice startup operations is also part of the role. A solid understanding of budgeting and revenue cycle processes is necessary, including participation in establishing budgets for assigned practices, understanding cost control processes, and monitoring financial performance progress and adherence to budget. The individual will develop proficiency in analyzing revenue cycle performance data and participate in developing processes to improve operating metrics.
