About the position

The Director of Public Relations at Vaco is responsible for managing the public relations function of the enterprise. This role involves developing and executing comprehensive PR strategies that align with the company's objectives, enhancing the organization's perception across various channels. The Director serves as both a strategist and a hands-on leader, focusing on impactful media relations, crisis communications, and ensuring alignment with broader communication goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute PR strategies that align with corporate objectives.
• Cultivate relationships with key media contacts and oversee proactive pitching, interviews, and briefings.
• Lead the creation of press releases, media statements, and key messaging documents.
• Monitor industry trends and news to identify PR opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Manage and mentor the PR team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
• Lead crisis communication efforts and develop plans to manage crises effectively.
• Work cross-functionally with marketing teams to align PR efforts with broader campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or related field required.
• At least 8 years' experience in public relations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and media relations required.
• Familiarity with PR metrics and reporting.
