About the position

The Physician Recruitment Manager directs the physician recruitment function for Sturdy Memorial Hospital and Associates, establishing and implementing policies for recruiting, screening, and interviewing clinicians. This role is crucial for managing all aspects of provider recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention, ensuring a continuous pipeline of suitable candidates to meet the hospital's needs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the organization's physician recruitment function and establish policies for recruiting, screening, and interviewing clinicians.
  • Leverage existing provider network and geographical knowledge to manage all aspects of provider recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention.
  • Source candidates and manage contracted recruitment firms.
  • Work directly with physician and provider candidates to offer contracted positions.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with employment agencies, external recruiters, and professional associations.
  • Develop policies governing the candidate screening and interview scheduling process.
  • Establish standards for credential, reference, or background checks.
  • Design and implement strategies to attract talented and diverse physicians.
  • Lead sourcing strategies through various channels including social media and events.
  • Develop recruitment pipeline including outreach to residency programs and medical schools.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on best practices related to recruiting.
  • Provide an excellent experience for candidates and improve onboarding and training programs.
  • Coordinate interviews, both virtual and in-person, and manage feedback collection.
  • Coordinate offer development and manage receipt of contracts.
  • Track expenses, submit invoices, create requisitions, and prepare reports.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of physician and/or provider recruitment management experience.
  • Experience with the physician recruitment continuum from sourcing through contracting and onboarding.
  • Vast understanding of physician hiring including permanent, locum, and per diem, with knowledge of visa requirements.
  • Ability to maintain web-based recruitment subscriptions and ensure they are current and accurate.
  • Excellent administrative, telephone, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently.
  • Must be computer literate with a thorough understanding of technology including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Gant Charts, and Outlook.
