About the position

The Director of the Lincoln University Employment Academy is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of educational programs and services that enhance student academic achievement and workforce placement. This role involves fostering community partnerships to create internship and career opportunities, managing academic and administrative aspects of the Academy, and ensuring alignment with university degree programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high quality curriculum that meets workforce needs of public and private sector partners.
  • Ensure that Employment Academy aligns with current and future University degree programs.
  • Assume responsibility for continuous improvement of partnerships between state agencies and Lincoln University.
  • Manage all academic aspects of the Employment Academy including oversight of adjunct faculty and curriculum alignment.
  • Manage all administrative aspects of the Employment Academy including budgeting and marketing.
  • Communicate and cooperate with internal stakeholders to develop quality curriculum and instruction.
  • Attend professional meetings and workshops to maintain professional knowledge and create networking opportunities.
  • Recruit, screen, hire, train, and evaluate Career Academy staff as defined by university policy.
  • Advise and assist in obtaining additional funding for the Academy's programs.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships with government agencies and community organizations.

Requirements

  • Masters' degree required, PhD preferred in Education, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in educational career advancement programming and instruction.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to engage individuals from diverse educational disciplines.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with workforce development and career advancement programming within higher education.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Skills in organization and time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills within professional and higher education areas.
  • Proficiency with state and/or federal workforce development and career advancement systems.
