About the position

The Director of the Lincoln University Academy is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of high-quality educational programs and services for students. This role emphasizes building positive community partnerships to create internships and career opportunities, promoting student academic achievement, and enhancing workforce placement and advancement. The Director will also oversee the expansion of the Employment Academy by establishing new partnerships and career tracks aligned with university degree programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality curriculum that meets workforce needs of public and private sector partners.
  • Ensure alignment of the Employment Academy with current and future University degree programs.
  • Manage partnerships between state agencies and Lincoln University, and develop new partnerships with stakeholders.
  • Oversee all academic aspects of the Employment Academy, including adjunct faculty management and curriculum alignment with accreditation requirements.
  • Handle administrative aspects of the Employment Academy, including budgeting, marketing, and reporting requirements.
  • Communicate and cooperate with internal stakeholders to develop quality curriculum and instruction.
  • Attend professional meetings and workshops to maintain professional knowledge and create networking opportunities.
  • Recruit, screen, hire, train, and evaluate Career Academy staff as per university policy.
  • Advise and assist in obtaining additional funding for the Academy's programs.
  • Maintain relationships with government agencies and community organizations to develop educational programs for workplace preparation.
  • Engage with public and private sector businesses to secure support for the Employment Academy.

Requirements

  • Masters' degree required; PhD preferred in Education, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in educational career advancement programming and instruction.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to engage individuals from diverse educational disciplines.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with workforce development and career advancement programming in higher education.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in professional and higher education settings.
  • Proficiency with state and federal workforce development systems and programs.
  • Familiarity with student support and advancement programs related to employment opportunities.
