About the position

The Director of the Community Campus Clinic and Wellness Center is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the center which includes the provision of mental health services to our Wilberforce students attending who may be experiencing difficulties at school, periods of anxiety, bouts of depression, and in addition, any substance related issues. Supervise the staff at the center to include the Executive Assistant and/or clerical staff. This person will be responsible for managing the center's budget, ordering medical supplies when needed, and ensuring that the center adheres to healthcare laws and regulations. The clinical director will engage the campus community to determine the needs of students and establish relationships with the Student Engagement staff and the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program staff and Faculty. The clinical director will supervise graduate students working at the facility during their practicum/internship hours which are a part of their curriculum. This requires reporting to the faculty of the course and providing a report on the satisfactory progress of the student's activities and finally, the evaluation of the student's experience in the counseling environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services to Wilberforce students on a daily basis to determine mental health issues, provide diagnostics and assessments and evaluate the students for counseling services.
  • Provide direct supervision to graduate students performing their internship or practicum at the clinic and provide documentation of their performance to the faculty.
  • Participates in monthly peer review and other quality improvement activities while working closely with Director of the Graduate Program to ensure clinically sound documentation is being provided for student experience.
  • Reviews, rejects, and approves clinical documentation for assigned clinical students on a daily basis and provides feedback to faculty if necessary and student.
  • Reports all adverse incidents to the Vice President immediately. Consults with Director of the Graduate Program/Faculty on any incident that requires external reporting.
  • Reviews assessments & staff's diagnoses along with appropriate recommendation for treatment.
  • Monitors treatment plan service delivery compliance i.e., ensures any providers deliver services in type and quantity consistent with the treatment plan and minimizes over and/or under-utilization of services.
  • Make referrals when appropriate and monitor external services to our student consumers as part of their ongoing treatment plans.
  • Addresses complaints made about provider(s) or services by payers and/or consumers. Reports complaints per policy to the Vice President or the President's Executive Branch.
  • May make intern site visits to ensure internship quality is equal to or better than that provided at the campus clinic.
  • Monitors HIPAA compliance and reports breaches in accordance with corporate policy.
  • Adheres to the requirements and regulations as set forth by the Department of Health and Human Services and Ohio State Board of Examiners based on clinical licensure.
  • Assists students with the Intake process, diagnostic evaluations and other procedures for onboarding clients.
  • Maintains professional licensure as a behavioral health provider in good standing based on licensing requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with a Supervisor designation (LPCC-S) with a license in Ohio.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing a clinical mental health facility or facility that offers counseling services.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with serving individuals with disabilities including supervising either subordinates or students who are in their practicum or internships.

Nice-to-haves

  • A doctoral degree in Counseling, Clinical Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field in counseling.
  • Education from a CACREP accredited program.
