About the position

The Director of Social Services is responsible for managing and monitoring all aspects of the program in accordance with DHS contractual requirements. This role involves executing the implementation of required services for homeless families without children residing in the shelter. The Director coordinates the work of the Social Service team to ensure effective service delivery to clients, schedules multi-disciplinary teams at the site to optimize staff availability, and oversees day-to-day operations to ensure efficient coordination of new intakes and move-outs. Additionally, the Director hires, orients, supervises, and disciplines onsite case management, security, and operations personnel. Regular quality assurance checks are conducted, and the Director reports monthly to Senior Praxis Management on adherence to the Quality Assurance Utilization Review Plan, making recommendations for improvements. The role also includes overseeing client complaints, conducting resident meetings, administering Praxis & DHS Code of conduct policies, ensuring readiness for audits, and attending community board meetings to build relationships with community members. The Director is on call 24/7 for emergencies and performs any other duties as required by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all aspects of program on DHS contractual requirements
  • Execute the implementation of required delivery of services to homeless families without children residing in the shelter
  • Coordinate the work of the Social Service team to ensure effective service delivery to clients
  • Schedule multi-disciplinary teams at the site to optimize staff availability to clients and staff access to on-site services
  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure new intakes and move-outs are coordinated with efficiency
  • Hire, orient, supervise, and discipline onsite case management, security, and operations personnel
  • Conduct quality assurance spot checks on a regular basis
  • Review individual case files and social service plans on a monthly basis for quality assurance and efficacy
  • Report monthly to Senior Praxis Management on agency adherence to Quality Assurance Utilization Review Plan and make recommendations for improvements
  • Oversee the disposition of all client complaints, ensuring timely and fair resolution
  • Conduct resident meetings to keep residents abreast of developments
  • Administer Praxis & DHS Code of conduct policies
  • Ensure readiness for audits by governmental agencies
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings with all multi-disciplinary teams
  • Be on call 24 hours a day/seven days a week in case of emergencies
  • Enforce Program Operations building protocol and ensure incident reports are filled properly and on time
  • Submit monthly reports as scheduled to all required parties
  • Attend Community Board meetings to cultivate trusting relationships with community members
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings
  • Perform any other duties as required by supervisor

Requirements

  • MSW-LMSW or equivalent experience required
  • LCSW a plus
  • Relevant experience of five years or more with disenfranchised population
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus
  • Commitment to working with homeless adult families
  • Computer literacy; Microsoft Office Suite preferred
