About the position

The Director of Security at Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits is responsible for creating a secure environment through the development and implementation of physical and technical security programs. This role involves overseeing security procedures to protect personnel, property, and the company's reputation, as well as conducting investigations into theft and misconduct. The Director will also manage security contracts, advise local leadership on security issues, and support the corporate security strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of executing security contracts at assigned locations.
  • Develop security education programs to raise employee awareness and reduce risk.
  • Implement technical security solutions for facilities.
  • Develop and implement facility security guidelines and best practices.
  • Promote a positive workplace environment and maintain values.
  • Create and communicate strategic and operational plans for security objectives.
  • Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Partner with leadership on crisis communication protocols and emergency response plans.
  • Conduct internal and external investigations for theft or unethical behavior.
  • Stay informed on security technology trends and evaluate products for implementation.
  • Create and conduct security trainings and drills at all locations.
  • Initiate relationships with local and federal law enforcement and emergency response entities.
  • Manage and negotiate security contract terms and renewals.
  • Prepare and implement building upgrades and maintenance initiatives.
  • Create annual work plan and budget utilizing resources effectively.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or higher
  • 10+ years of experience in Law Enforcement, Military, or Loss Prevention
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
  • Experience managing security integrators and project management of security installations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Highly proficient in video surveillance equipment/systems

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions
  • Analytical/problem solving skills
