About The Position

Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Director of Player Development/Assistant Coach for Women’s Basketball. The candidate would be expected to assist the Head Coach with oversight in all areas of women’s basketball operations, including video, technology, and administration; direct supervise team managers and practice players; facilitate weekly student-athlete academic and well-being check-in meetings; oversee study hall; ensure attendance at all practices; assist in on-campus recruiting; and work with the equipment manager for team apparel. This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A valid driver’s license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks.
  • Must have an understanding of the University's concern for academics as well as athletic excellence.
  • Must be able to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to travel as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Basketball coaching, playing, or managerial experience at the collegiate level.
  • Video technology experience and an understanding of Synergy and ARMS software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and plan all areas of video, scouting, technology, team managers, practice players, and tournament coordination for recruiting.
  • Coordinate all facets of video exchange in Synergy, opponent scouting, technology, and other duties assigned for game prep and practice breakdowns.
  • Responsible for adhering to policies and procedures governing the Department of Athletics and the University and any applicable rules and regulations associated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) or any other conference or organization with which the University is or becomes associated with which affects University Athletics.
  • Responsible for adding and managing practice players.
  • Responsible for the oversight of all student athlete development and welfare.
  • Direct player focus on skill development on the court and with personal growth off the court.
  • Direct, create, and implement individual development plans to ensure players needs are addressed and met as they relate to academics and personal growth.
  • Create and manage drill playbook.
  • Utilize analytics for team success.
  • Assist with recruiting, social media, special events, summer camps, and academics.
  • Assume specific role as designated by Head Coach in practice and game settings.
  • Be available within specific office hours and practice sessions throughout the fall and spring seasons while overseeing study hall.
  • Night and weekend hours required as needed.
  • Travel required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
