The Director of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) is a pivotal role within LA Family Housing, responsible for the strategic vision and oversight of the Permanent Supportive Housing Department. This position is crucial in addressing homelessness, a systemic issue that the organization is dedicated to solving. The Director will oversee 11 existing PSH buildings that accommodate high-acuity formerly homeless residents, with plans to expand to an additional 7 buildings over the next five years. This role involves managing clinical programming, ensuring contract compliance, overseeing fiscal management, and coordinating with both contracted and sub-contracted partner agencies and community providers. The Director will also lead the training and development of departmental leadership and staff, ensuring that best practices in homeless services are implemented effectively. In addition to overseeing the PSH Department, the Director will act as the primary contact for all PSH contracted programs, including those with LAHSA, LA County DHS, DMH, and HACLA. Responsibilities include leading pipeline activities such as service plan creation, budget planning, contract negotiations, and new development site coordination. The Director will ensure successful implementation of program contracts, compliance with funding requirements, and achievement of performance measures. Regular program file reviews and the preparation of required reports are also key responsibilities. The Director will provide ongoing supervision, feedback, and coaching to team members, conduct performance evaluations, and participate in the hiring process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for homelessness prevention and familiarity with best practices such as motivational interviewing, housing first, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care. They will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, crisis resolution abilities, and effective communication skills. Experience in social service or non-profit management is essential, along with a detail-oriented approach to managing program requirements and collaborating with inter-departmental leadership. The role requires adaptability to thrive in a dynamic work environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous, and travel is required 30% of the time, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle and a valid California driver's license.
