About the position
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the organization, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in production processes. This role involves leading teams, implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the company, particularly in the electronics assembly production environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and ensure efficient production processes.
- Lead and mentor personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Analyze operational performance and implement RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, particularly in Aerospace/Defense.
- Communicate effectively with team members and upper management regarding operational issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years' experience in Operations, including 3 years supervising personnel.
- 3 years minimum experience in electronics assembly production environment.
- Prior Aerospace/Defense industry experience preferred.
- Fluent in English; Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Experience leading Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives; certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or 5S is required.
- Strong communication, team building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Analytical skills with demonstrated RCCA implementation experience.
- Proficient in MS Office software suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a leadership role within the Aerospace/Defense sector.
- Bilingual capabilities, particularly in Spanish.
