About The Position

As a key business leader and developer in a multi-restaurant market environment, you are responsible for creating an environment where Area Directors, Restaurant General Managers, and Assistant Managers are challenged to grow and develop. You must ensure objectives are achieved while operating within all company guidelines, cultural values, and following ethical business practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Hospitality, or Hotel/Restaurant Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years second-level multi-restaurant management experience, preferably with a national chain restaurant.
  • 3-5+ years of supervision of multi-restaurant leaders.
  • Must be able to travel within assigned area and throughout the organization as requested.
  • Superior business acumen: demonstrated ability to analyze and impact business results at an organization level.
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentation; demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, persuade, and collaborate with team and peers.
  • Demonstrated analytical, mathematical, and reasoning skills.
  • Superior organization and self-management skills.
  • Able to manage/lead others, integrate change, and build a diverse and effective team.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to achieve results through others and build an engaging culture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated positive team-oriented attitude.
  • Standing and walking for long periods without a break.
  • Work at a fast pace and may involve exposure to noise, heat, cold, or other elements.
  • Ability to travel to other restaurants, meeting venues, etc.
  • Must live within the geographic area being supported; ability to work extra hours (exempt), weekend hours, holiday hours, evening hours, as required; ability to accommodate the likelihood of a variable work schedule from week to week; travel within the assigned area and throughout the organization as requested; driving on company business (requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance coverage meeting or exceeding state requirements for property damage and bodily injury).

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and selects Area Directors and Restaurant General Managers.
  • Supports and monitors Area Directors throughout the training program.
  • Creates an inclusive work environment that values all associates, strives for work/life balance.
  • Proactively manages performance through regular one-on-one coaching, assistance in developing, and reviewing progress on development plans, recognizing accomplishments, and making impartial reward decisions.
  • Acts as a role model for championing brand standards.
  • Sets stretch goals, assigns clear authority and accountability, holds self and others accountable for performance, and meeting commitments.
  • Within business framework and guidelines, creatively chooses options and tactics to increase sales and drive efficiency.
  • Anticipates problems and has well-developed responses that can be adapted to fit the situation.

  • Facilitates Period Business Reviews with the Area Director team to understand financial wins/losses and determines internal strategies to overcome losses and capitalize on wins.
  • Participates in Quarterly Business Reviews with the executive leadership team.
  • Communicates changes openly, builds support for initiatives, solicits, and encourages feedback, anticipates resistance to change, explains rationale behind changes and follows up to manage change.
