About the position

The Director of Operations at Laars Heating Systems is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing various functional areas including Manufacturing, Fulfillment, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement. This position involves leading strategic initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers. The Director will also supervise multiple facilities and teams, driving improvements in safety, quality, and cost control while supporting production operations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that manufacturing capacities align with company requirements to support expected demand.
  • Provides oversight for major project initiatives such as new capital equipment and process improvements.
  • Maintains a strong presence in the continuous improvement of business and manufacturing processes.
  • Develops and maintains direct relationships with major customers and suppliers to address their needs.
  • Provides executive leadership and oversight to various operational functions including Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
  • Engages with functional peers to support new product development and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Supervises managers and professional staff, focusing on development and succession planning.
  • Leads the Manufacturing team to ensure effective support of production operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures compliance with plant safety and environmental regulations, enhancing employee health and safety.
  • Prepares business plans and operating budgets, monitoring performance and responding appropriately.
  • Resolves customer service issues and builds long-term relationships with partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP systems).
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Experience in budget management and cost control within a manufacturing environment.
