About the position

The Director of Operations for Primary Care at WellSpan Health Services is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to Service Line practices, ensuring the delivery of patient-centered, affordable, and high-quality healthcare services. This role involves managing overall practice operations, enhancing patient experience, engaging employees, and overseeing budgeting and financial performance. The Director will collaborate with physician and clinical leadership, participate in strategic planning, and implement performance improvement initiatives across multiple primary care practices in York County.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to Service Line practices to ensure quality healthcare delivery.
  • Collaborate with physician and clinical leadership for effective communication and operational changes.
  • Coordinate with corporate support areas to align communication and operations.
  • Manage issues related to facilities, equipment, and supplies with direct reports.
  • Oversee disaster preparedness and facility design projects to enhance patient experience.
  • Lead integration of newly acquired practices and measure patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Develop policies and standards, and evaluate areas for improvement using Lean methodology.
  • Supervise managers and evaluate their performance, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new staff, ensuring appropriate staffing quality.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budget and revenue cycle management, and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Five years of experience in leadership of medical group practices, preferably with multiple locations.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, managerial, and computer skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record meeting WellSpan Risk Management requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation in healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of Lean Daily Management System (LDMS) principles.
