About the position
The Director of Nursing at AdventHealth is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the quality and delivery of nursing care within specific patient areas, including the Emergency Department. This position involves comprehensive responsibilities such as assessment, planning, implementation, and coordination of care processes, ensuring high-quality practice delivery, and advocating for patient rights and safety. The Director collaborates with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, and executive leaders to enhance patient experiences and promote a respectful learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of healthcare delivered to assigned patient populations.
- Promote care delivery with respect for individuals' rights and preferences.
- Participate in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making utilizing clinical expertise.
- Maintain knowledge of current nursing practices and patient care delivery systems.
- Lead or participate in clinical committees that affect patient care and outcomes.
- Ensure organizational clinical policies and procedures are reviewed and updated according to evidence-based practice.
- Develop unit activities that support the elements of extending excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of five years' experience in nursing with two years' experience in leadership roles in a comparable healthcare entity.
- Current valid State of Florida or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse.
