About the position

The Director of Nursing at Discovery MSO LLC is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing nursing operations within a behavioral health facility focused on Substance Use Disorder (SUD) recovery. This position requires a passionate Registered Nurse who is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and guiding individuals on their recovery journey. The Director will manage nursing staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and provide direct patient care, all while fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule nurses' shifts and train and evaluate nursing staff
  • Provide reports on productivity, quality and metrics
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure training & compliance are completed
  • Provide care adapted to the individual patient needs based on the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Provide direct client care, including the reporting of observed changes in mental status and/or physical condition, response to emergencies, safety risks
  • Perform new intake assessments (COWS AND CIWA)
  • Observation, documentation, audit functions, and record keeping of all observed/inventoried/destroyed/prescribed medications
  • Monitor medication management and take vitals
  • Provide direct client care to a diversified patient population, across continuum of care
  • Collaborate with staff in assessing client treatment needs and develop plan of care for all clients, including complex high-risk patients
  • Work closely with staff physician to provide education and counseling for clients and other organizational health care providers on optimal use of medicines
  • Ensure all services comply with state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of California (in good standing)
  • Experience in Addiction Rehabilitation Services
  • Charge Nurse experience
  • Ability to work onsite full-time at the facility
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in Substance Use Disorder
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience
