About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Director of Med-Surg for an exciting Travel or Local job in Panama City, FL. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with a day shift schedule. The role involves leading and managing the operational, clinical, and financial functions of the Med-Surg department, driving performance improvement, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring effective patient flow. The Director will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes, develop staff and patient education programs, and oversee the adoption of new clinical technologies. Responsibilities also include coordinating care conferences, managing staffing and recruitment, ensuring compliance with hiring and regulatory standards, and developing departmental goals aligned with facility objectives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of recent acute care RN leadership experience (within the last year required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Active RN or APRN license required
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage operational, clinical, and financial functions of the Med-Surg department
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives and optimize resource utilization
  • Ensure effective patient flow across the continuum of care
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes
  • Develop and implement staff and patient education programs
  • Evaluate and support adoption of new clinical technologies and services
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary care conferences for complex patients
  • Oversee staffing, recruitment, performance management, and employee engagement
  • Ensure compliance with organizational hiring and regulatory standards
