About the position

The Director of Logistics at Zurn Elkay Water Solutions is responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation, including domestic and international freight operations. This strategic leadership role involves planning, managing, and optimizing logistics processes to ensure high service levels and cost efficiency. The Director will lead a team, develop transportation strategies, and collaborate with various departments to align logistics with corporate supply chain objectives.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct operational execution of all aspects of the organization's international and domestic transportation and 3PL programs.
• Develop and execute annual transportation budgets.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation laws and regulations.
• Oversee carrier/provider management programs to exceed service levels at effective costs.
• Perform periodic reviews of the delivery network to maximize utilization and reduce costs.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop an engaged logistics organization.
• Establish and achieve aggressive goals and objectives aligned with organizational goals.
• Translate strategies into specific goals, tactics, action plans, and deliverables for the team.
• Develop operational plans to optimize transportation modes and routing.
• Create and enforce freight policies and procedures for logistics activities.
• Implement material flow management systems to meet requirements.
• Advise Regional Logistics Managers on cost reduction strategies.
• Design models for evaluating logistics programs or services.
• Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate business systems globally.
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes.
• Develop KPIs for logistics functions globally.
• Create and manage departmental budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 8 to 10 years of experience in logistics management.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Previous experience in international logistics.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams on an international basis.
