Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Juice and Beverage production department, ensuring cost efficiency, adherence to quality standards, and ongoing operational improvements.
  • Ensure consistent product quality—including flavor, color, and texture—across a diverse range of 40+ items such as cold-pressed juices, smoothies, lemonades, and tonic beverages.
  • Manage production schedules to guarantee timely delivery of daily and special orders (retail and bulk), while maintaining strict quality standards across all store locations.
  • Monitor all aspects of the production process to ensure food safety and product integrity; stay up-to-date on quality assurance practices and ensure compliance with local health regulations, food safety standards, and internal guidelines.
  • Conduct daily inventory checks, track production needs, coordinate with procurement and logistics teams, and place supply orders through the company's internal system.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records; may develop or implement tracking tools and analyze data to identify and resolve production issues.
  • Lead the USDA Organic Certification renewal process, including maintaining supplier certifications, tracking production records, and ensuring continuous compliance with organic regulations.
  • Collaborate on new product development, including recipe creation, cost evaluation, and brand partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost savings; lead initiatives to streamline operations and improve production efficiency.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and when necessary, take corrective actions or partner with HR resources to manage personnel matters; mentor and support staff through coaching and training.
  • Manage employee schedules, review timecards, control labor costs, and ensure adequate staffing levels while balancing productivity with budget goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a director-level role within food and beverage production.
  • In-depth knowledge of required certifications for production operations, including successful management of organic certification renewals.
  • Experience with USDA Organic Certification or similar compliance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices, health regulations, and both federal and state labor laws.
  • Proven leadership experience in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused, and proactive in addressing challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage both administrative and operational tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, basic payroll functions, and production scheduling.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
