About the position

The Director of IT at Randstad US is responsible for overseeing the technology landscape of the Terminal in Parsippany, NJ. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, operational management, and security oversight to ensure that the organization's technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. The Director will collaborate with various departments and global teams to align technology needs with business objectives, manage IT operations, and lead a team of IT professionals.

Responsibilities

• Identify technology needs and create a technology roadmap for the Terminal.
• Collaborate with department heads to understand their requirements.
• Evaluate and select vendors, hardware, and software that align with the Terminal's roadmap.
• Supervise IT staff, assign objectives, tasks, and set priorities.
• Recruit, train, and coach employees, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources.
• Manage the Terminal's technology landscape and deliver on key metrics around cyber security and system reliability.
• Maintain and support procedures to ensure reliability of technology to support operations.
• Ensure the security of data, network access, and backup systems.
• Plan, organize, and control IT projects, implementing and coordinating systems, policies, and procedures.
• Handle annual budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Identify and address problematic areas, implementing strategic solutions in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Over 8 years of total IT management experience with Windows administration and VMware administration.
• Experience with technology for the industry, including Gate Operating Systems and Terminal Operating Systems.
• Intermediate knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Intermediate understanding of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Proficient in VLANs, VPNs, and WAN technologies.
• Experience with automation software and tools specific to the stevedoring industry.
• Ability to prepare, manage, and monitor IT budgets.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with OCR software and tools.
• Understanding of stevedoring operations and logistics.
• Proficient in cost-benefit analysis and financial forecasting.
