About the position

The Director of Integrated Strategy and Engagement is a transformative leadership role at World Concern, dedicated to shaping a unified, strategic vision for organizational impact and growth. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams—particularly program, development/fundraising, marketing, and communications—to align and integrate efforts that support and reinforce World Concern's mission. This position will report directly to the Vice President ensuring that programmatic objectives and fundraising strategies are aligned, mutually reinforcing, and amplifying both operational effectiveness and donor engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning sessions across departments to develop cross-functional strategies that foster shared goals, strategies, and action plans towards reaching World Concern's mission and growth objectives.
  • Support the organization's strategic planning processes for the creation of multi-year plans to meet both programmatic and fundraising goals.
  • Ensure that department-specific goals and projects align with the broader organizational strategy.
  • Manage strategic initiatives in collaboration with program, finance, donor relations, and marketing teams to improve cross-functional alignment and identify opportunities for greater efficiency and impact.
  • Support the President of World Concern in identifying, prioritizing, and managing strategic initiatives to further the growth and impact of World Concern.
  • Design and manage collaborative cross-functional processes that produce external messaging and content that enhances program visibility and increases donor acquisition, engagement, and retention.
  • Lead the development of engagement strategies that strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and increase the organization's visibility and influence with donors and partners.
  • Supervise private grant acquisition and reporting, supporting grant proposal development by integrating programmatic insights, data, and outcomes into funding applications.
  • Oversee the development of communication strategy that engages both donors and strategic partners and positions the organization as a thought leader within key networks and donor communities.
  • Act as a primary representative of the organization in public forums, conferences, and strategic meetings to build awareness and enhance engagement with donors and strategic partners.
  • Cultivate and maintain high-impact relationships with strategic partners, supporting initiatives that further the organization's mission, broaden its reach, and grow its supporter partners.
  • Direct process improvement initiatives that streamline collaboration and communication across programs, development, and other key functions.
  • Identify and implement best practices to enhance organizational efficiency, creating frameworks and tools that promote cross-functional alignment.
  • Support building staff capacity for strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support the organization's growth objectives by aligning strategic initiatives with revenue generation goals and helping to set benchmarks for success.
  • Develop and oversee frameworks to monitor and evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives, using data-driven insights to guide continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate the development of metrics to assess and monitor progress toward strategic objectives.
  • Establish rhythms to regularly assess progress towards strategic objectives, refining plans to stay responsive to sector trends, funding opportunities, and organizational needs.
  • Regularly report to leadership on progress toward strategic goals, providing insights on emerging trends, gaps, and opportunities for growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, International Development, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in strategic planning, cross-functional coordination, or a similar senior leadership role, ideally within a non-profit, humanitarian, or mission-driven organization.
  • Proven experience in facilitating cross-functional collaboration and strategy alignment across multiple departments.
  • Strong understanding of program design, grant writing, and donor relations in a non-profit context.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and influence at various levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) frameworks and data-driven decision-making.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, International Development, or a related discipline.
