About the position

The Director of Facilities and Asset Management at Children's Hope Alliance is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the agency's physical assets. This role ensures that all facilities, grounds, and vehicles are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with regulations. The director leads the property management team, overseeing maintenance, repairs, renovations, and new construction projects while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and organize preventive, routine, and special maintenance and groundskeeping projects.
  • Procure service providers/contractors and verify work quality; serve as the general contractor for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Maintain safety and regulatory compliance for all property management activities.
  • Administer the agency's fleet operations, including vehicle procurement and maintenance scheduling.
  • Develop and maintain effective property management systems, including policies and procedures and maintenance schedules.
  • Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, including annual operating and capital improvement budgets.
  • Manage the acquisition, leasing, and disposition of properties, including due diligence and evaluation.
  • Leverage technology to monitor performance and improve operational efficiency.
  • Serve as a member of the Properties for Children Board and Environment of Care Committee.
  • Direct the recruitment, onboarding, and development of the property management team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, real estate, or a related field is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in property and/or facilities management with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Preferred experience in construction and related skills such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and finishing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using property management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have a valid North Carolina's Driver's license and be able to travel throughout the service area.
