About the position

The Director of Business Development at APGFCU is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive business development and community involvement plans to enhance the credit union's image and achieve its goals. This role involves collaboration with various departments to identify opportunities, implement strategies, and track results, with a primary focus on the Baltimore City and Baltimore County area.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute an annual business development plan detailing tactics and measurable outcomes for growth in members and business partners.
  • Solicit new business partners for APGFCU@Work, Buy Local, and OnSite Financing programs.
  • Manage workplace enrollments and special event participation to connect with prospective new members.
  • Participate in the development and execution of marketing's annual strategic plan for new member growth.
  • Act as a liaison and advisor to branch managers to create new business development strategies for their markets.
  • Participate in the development of marketing material for business development efforts.
  • Work with marketing to develop messaging strategies for new initiatives.
  • Identify, build, and manage long-term relationships with strategic partners in the community.
  • Establish connections with key community groups and assist employees in local community activities.
  • Recommend and facilitate opportunities for credit union representation in community initiatives.
  • Provide feedback from community and business leaders to APGFCU leadership.
  • Provide monthly reporting to VP Marketing on new memberships and partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • Five plus years of sales or relationship management experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record in community engagement leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project.
  • Experience in budget management.
