About the position

The Director of IT Sourcing at Otsuka is responsible for overseeing the Sourcing process for IT category spend, partnering with IT leadership to maximize value for the organization. This role involves developing and executing the company's IT Category Management strategy, ensuring compliance with policies and processes, and collaborating with various stakeholders to identify cost optimization opportunities. The Director will lead a cross-functional Center of Excellence, manage vendor relationships, and drive annual savings through strategic sourcing practices.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the IT executive team to create a Sourcing vision and strategy that aligns with business needs.
• Develop and manage relationships with key vendors to enable operational improvement and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with policies, processes, and systems for IT category spend.
• Manage the full lifecycle of contracts for assigned programs and key suppliers.
• Proactively manage contracts and license renewals to mitigate business disruptions.
• Lead negotiations for enterprise initiatives, meeting timelines and requirements.
• Facilitate understanding of Procurement policies and processes among project teams and stakeholders.
• Evaluate vendor performance under established guidelines.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities based on industry trends and new technology.
• Drive annual savings within the IT category through market intelligence analysis.
• Direct Sourcing professionals to ensure timely delivery of sourcing projects.

Requirements

• Significant experience in negotiating contracts related to software licensing and cloud-based solutions.
• Strong experience in senior stakeholder management and collaborative strategy development.
• Experience in a Sourcing/Procurement team in a complex environment.
• Good knowledge of IT vendors and emerging technologies.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Business degree or equivalent.
• Experience supervising a team and interacting with senior clients and vendors.
• Expertise in negotiating supplier contracts for maximum value.
• Demonstrated category management and metrics development experience.
• Understanding of financial and operational controls in a Sourcing organization.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree (MBA/MS) preferred.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and drug development/commercialization.
