About The Position

Quanta Services is seeking a Director, Craft Workforce Development to join our Training and Development team. This is a newly created, builder role — reporting to the Vice President of Training Operations and designed for a hands-on leader who thrives on building programs from the ground up rather than managing existing ones. The Director will lead Quanta's craft workforce development strategy with an initial focus on Data Center Electrical, developing the systems, partnerships, curricula, and pipelines needed to grow and retain a highly skilled field workforce at scale across Quanta's operating companies. The ideal candidate brings direct field experience as a journeyman or above, a proven track record of building accredited training and apprenticeship programs, and the credibility to operate effectively with both field craft and executive leadership. This role requires hands-on field credibility, proven system-building capability, and strong cross-functional leadership across a large, decentralized organization.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician or equivalent craft credential required.
  • 10 or more years of experience in electrical construction, with demonstrated progression from field craft to leadership roles.
  • Proven experience building and launching accredited apprenticeship programs, field leadership curricula, or workforce development systems from the ground up.
  • Direct experience in data center, mission-critical, or large-scale electrical construction.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop workforce pipelines through partnerships with trade schools, unions, municipalities, and industry organizations.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with field craft, operating company leadership, and corporate executives.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly across Quanta's operating regions to support field engagement and program delivery.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent craft credential; valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • Master Electrician license or General Foreman/Superintendent-level field experience strongly preferred.
  • ICF-accredited coaching certification or equivalent leadership development credential preferred.
  • Experience delivering NECA, IBEW, or equivalent union-affiliated field leadership training preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent field-based experience will be considered.
  • Public speaking, industry panel, or workforce development advocacy experience a plus.
  • Master Electrician license.
  • ICF Accredited Business Coach or equivalent.
  • OSHA 30.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and scale craft workforce development programs from the ground up, with an initial focus on Data Center Electrical construction.
  • Develop and launch accredited apprenticeship programs in partnership with trade organizations, IBEW, NECA, and state workforce agencies.
  • Build and deploy field leadership curricula across Quanta operating companies, including foreman and general foreman development programs.
  • Create scalable train-the-trainer frameworks that enable consistent delivery of workforce development programs across multiple regions and OpCos.
  • Establish program standards, metrics, and governance frameworks to measure effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  • Build and manage strategic partnerships with trade schools, community colleges, IBEW locals, general contractors, and local municipalities to develop sustainable craft workforce pipelines.
  • Design and execute recruitment and pre-apprenticeship outreach strategies to attract qualified craft candidates into Quanta's operating companies.
  • Collaborate with operating company leadership to identify workforce gaps and develop targeted pipeline strategies aligned to project demand.
  • Develop employer brand and content strategies that elevate Quanta's visibility as an employer of choice in the skilled trades.
  • Provide executive-level coaching and leadership development support to field leaders, including foremen, general foremen, and superintendents.
  • Design and facilitate customized leadership development workshops for craft professionals across regions and disciplines.
  • Partner with operating company leadership to identify high-potential field talent and build structured advancement pathways.
  • Serve as a credible field presence — willing and able to engage directly with craft workers, foremen, and field leadership on job sites.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Training Operations and operating company leaders to align workforce development strategy with Quanta's broader business objectives.
  • Coordinate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Safety teams to integrate workforce development efforts with broader talent and organizational initiatives.
  • Represent Quanta at industry events, trade conferences, and workforce development forums to advance Quanta's position as a leader in craft training.
  • Report program performance, pipeline metrics, and workforce development outcomes to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
