About The Position

Horizon Media, a leading marketing and advertising firm, is seeking a Director, Data Solutions to join their Business Solutions team. This role focuses on omni-audience development and coordination for campaign implementation and measurement, leveraging Horizon's proprietary Connected Marketing Platform, blu. The Director will partner directly with Data Scientists and be embedded within a specific pod of accounts, reporting to a VP, Data Solutions. The position also involves contributing to content and use cases for new business development. Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience with data and tech, including using DMPs/CDPs and Addressable TV.
  • Understanding of programmatic advertising.
  • Proven experience in audience development in an agency, adtech, or consulting environment.
  • Hands-on experience using multiple data sources for activation.
  • Experience making strategic recommendations to clients based on insights gathered from 1P and 3P data.
  • Analytical, inquisitive, collaborative, and confident with internal stakeholders and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the blu. platform, including data sources, dictionaries, taxonomy, refresh cadence, and access methods (UI, Snowflake, APIs), and generate client use cases.
  • Explore and define seed audiences for audience strategy against business objectives using blu. and/or client 1P data.
  • Direct Data Scientists on queries for insight development and custom audiences.
  • Define correct models and dictate individual model inputs and business rules for queries.
  • Review audience similarities and differences, uncover insights leading to high-value audiences, and prioritize audiences against KPIs.
  • Identify use cases for attitudinal data or custom survey work.
  • Provide input to the Analytics team on KPI construction.
  • Size seed audiences, look-alikes, and determine audience availability by partner in blu.
  • Build screen and partner allocation based on communication goals, objectives, and audience deliveries.
  • Develop audience architecture by product, KPI, messages, and landing pages.
  • Coordinate with client CRM teams or other buying teams on audiences and messages.
  • Work with platform activation teams to recommend 2nd party and platform data based on client objectives.
  • Finalize audience architecture, availabilities, and budgets.
  • Define frequency goals with Digital and Traditional Activation teams.
  • Collaborate with activation teams on the mix between video, display, and other vehicles.
  • Distribute to media partners and internal HMI buy platforms, setting up new partners for distribution and return path data.
  • Work directly with Traders and Traditional Activation teams on campaign implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with VP and Data Scientist to identify new audience optimizations based on campaign performance data.
  • Collaborate with client CRM/Email teams on audience development and optimization.
  • Partner with analytics on reporting insights.
