About the position

As a Director of Claims, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight to a team responsible for managing standard and complex claims resolution across various channels. Your role will include ensuring the highest standards of customer service for external and internal individuals. You will work with a team and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Monitor evolving state and local regulations, ensuring all claims processing complies with legal standards through robust reporting and audits.
  • Industry Engagement & Vendor Management: Collaborate with industry groups and establish relationships with third-party vendors to support efficient claims processing.
  • Claims Systems Leadership: Serve as the subject matter expert in strategic discussions on claims systems, advocating for improvements that enhance efficiency, compliance, and customer experience.
  • Fraud Prevention & Process Improvement: Utilize data insights to identify and resolve potential fraud issues, driving process improvements to strengthen safeguards and maintain organizational integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with emphasis in business or 6-7 years life insurance claims administration experience.
  • 3+ years progressively leading teams.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of claims operations, policy provisions, and values.
  • Required: Comprehensive knowledge of life claims operations and business software including Microsoft Office.
