About the position

The Director of Area-Service at Pep Boys is responsible for overseeing and managing operations and sales functions across multiple shops and territories. This role involves providing leadership to service managers and the outside sales team, focusing on increasing sales, driving organic growth, and managing expenses effectively. The position requires a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction, compliance with company policies, and personnel management.

Responsibilities

• Manage, direct, and control all operations and sales functions for multiple shops and sales territories.
• Provide leadership to service managers and outside sales teams to drive sales and organic growth.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by implementing marketing programs and training employees on company procedures.
• Oversee the interviewing, selection, training, and evaluation of store personnel.
• Conduct regular meetings with direct reports to communicate company information and performance metrics.
• Safeguard company assets through internal controls and daily operational involvement.
• Conduct store tours and operational reviews, auditing internal controls for cash, accounts receivable, and inventory.
• Improve profitability by increasing sales and controlling expenses.
• Supervise outside sales staff and conduct sales calls as necessary.
• Participate in the creation of local marketing programs for wholesale and retail customers.
• Facilitate customer training seminars in conjunction with manufacturers.
• Direct P&L responsibilities and participate in fiscal budget development.
• Responsible for the collection of Accounts Receivable.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in business administration, marketing, operations management, or similar required.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, operations management, or similar preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience in the automotive service industry.
