About the position

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Thrive Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide direct support and guidance to help these individuals achieve their personal goals and foster independence. This position involves assisting with daily living needs, advocating for personal growth, and building meaningful relationships within the community.

Responsibilities

• Ensure personal health and environmental safety through activities of daily living, personal hygiene, mobility assistance, meal preparation, medication administration, light housekeeping, and other health-related tasks.
• Provide transportation assistance for personal or community outings.
• Facilitate clear and efficient communication, explaining complex information when needed.
• Implement positive behavioral supports and basic life skill coaching to foster positive relationships and encourage self-advocacy.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Auto insurance (full coverage preferred)
• Working smartphone
• Ability to pass a background check
• First Aid and CPR certification
• 1 year of caregiving experience (preferred)
