About the position

The Director of Data Science & Analytics for Generative AI and Machine Learning at Molina Healthcare is responsible for leading strategic analysis and planning across business units to enhance healthcare data analytics. This role involves mentoring team members, conducting deep dive analyses, and collaborating with health plans to optimize revenue outcomes. The director will also develop scalable data processes, apply statistical methodologies, and present complex analytical findings to various audiences, ultimately aiming to improve healthcare quality and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data and error analysis to improve models and validate data for accuracy.
  • Evaluate, write, and present healthcare utilization and cost containment reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Direct Health Plan strategic analysis and planning across business units.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports, providing guidance and support.
  • Identify and set departmental priorities in alignment with operating plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct deep dive analyses across health plans to provide actionable insights and optimize revenue outcomes.
  • Observe Medicaid/Medicare/Marketplace growth opportunities and develop analytical frameworks to support business cases.
  • Partner with health plans to design Payment Integrity campaigns and evaluate their performance.
  • Present complex analytical information clearly to various audiences.
  • Collaborate with the analytics team to manage delivery of analytical projects.
  • Look for data solutions and technology-enabled opportunities to improve payment integrity solutions.
  • Apply statistical methodologies to provide actionable insights and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Develop scalable and automated processes for large-scale data analyses and model development.
  • Utilize algorithms and models to mine big data stores and clean data for uniformity and accuracy.
  • Analyze data for trends and patterns using large datasets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, or related field.
  • 5 years' experience leading healthcare analytics functions.
  • 7 years' work experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Hadoop, Power BI, R, Python, SQL, Impala SQL, Toad Automation scripts, Apache Superset, and Python healthcare packages.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and SDLC concepts.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to solve unstructured problems.
