About The Position

Responsible for preparation and direct dietary services of foods to residents/ consumers under the direction and supervision of the Dietary Manager. The position will provide direct dietary services to residents/consumers within the community. Generally, to be a part of a team effort for the overall effective operations to dining services.

Requirements

  • Strong people skills are required.
  • A current state food handler’s card is mandatory
  • Current driver’s license is mandatory
  • Able to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 lbs., hear, see, speak, sit, balance, kneel, reach, grasp, walk, stand, stoop, squat, and bend adequately perform the job functions.
  • Must be able to perform functions related to the job safely and successfully, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.
  • Function with inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work on your feet and in the standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Follow established performance standards and perform duties outlined in facility policies and procedures.
  • Come to work in clean, neat attire consistently presenting a professional appearance as outlined in the Employee Handbook

Nice To Haves

  • A background in restaurant food service is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food handling, serving procedures, and experience in customer service is also preferred.
  • Current ServeSafe Certificate is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Must be willing to follow standards and procedures set forth by the Dietary Manager.
  • Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures for successful practice
  • Participates in a team approach to resident / consumer being cognizant of and responsive to the needs of that resident / consumer
  • Acts as a resource person for staff regarding dietary / dining related concerns/issues
  • Recognizes an on-going responsibility to work for the continuing improvement in the overall functioning of his/her specific area of Dietary / Dining and makes appropriate suggestions in this regard
  • Participates in Quality Assurance activities as requested
  • Attends a regular supervisory meeting with Management which includes staffing issues, troubleshooting, and dietary review
  • Participates in staff training and education
  • Performs clean-up duties as needed for each meal service
  • Uses equipment and materials carefully, and in a safe manner, following correct operation and cleaning procedures
  • Reports all repair and maintenance needs to the supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Employees in this position must successfully pass all governmental and corporate required background investigations, such as, but not limited to, state required criminal history clearance investigations.
