About the position
The Dietary - Patient Food Service Associate plays a crucial role in the food service department by assisting with meal preparation, delivery, and sanitation. This position ensures that patient meals are assembled accurately and delivered in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assembles and checks trays accurately according to Room Service Guidelines and Standards, aiming for 98% accuracy on all tray checks.
- Delivers meal trays to patients following established tray passing procedures.
- Cleans and sanitizes the workstation in accordance with Sodexo, BVHS, and regulatory agency standards.
- Maintains accurate records for food temperatures, equipment, and production logs as per established guidelines.
- Initiates assignments promptly and works efficiently to meet established deadlines.
- Attends monthly safety inservices and practices safety in daily tasks, including reading and signing off on monthly safety topics.
- Attends monthly meetings and completes documentation related to inservices, mandatories, and competencies without prompting.
Requirements
- Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Adherence to policies, standards, and guidelines set by Joint Commission, State of Ohio, Sodexo, and BVHS.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, providing and accepting constructive feedback.
- Flexibility and adaptability in meeting service constraints and demands.
Nice-to-haves
- High school graduate preferred.
- Previous kitchen experience is helpful, but not required.
