About the position

The Dietary - Food Service Associate at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center is responsible for the preparation of food for patient service, cafeteria service, and special catered events. This role ensures that food quality meets the highest standards and adheres to specific dietary guidelines and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food products to the highest quality consistently, ensuring fresh and neat plate presentation.
• Assembles foods according to recipe guidelines and standards, measuring and following directions accurately while adhering to HAACP guidelines.
• Cleans and sanitizes the workstation in accordance with BVRHC, Sodexo, and regulatory agency standards.
• Maintains accurate record keeping for food temperature logs, equipment, cash worksheets, and production logs as per established guidelines.
• Initiates assignments promptly and efficiently, checking production catering sheets to prioritize workload and meet established deadlines.
• Attends monthly safety inservices and practices safety in daily tasks.
• Participates in monthly meetings and completes documentation related to inservices and competencies.
• Communicates job function changes to coworkers and maintains accurate job functions with management guidance.
• Reconciles cash drawer and deposits within the 5% accuracy standard as established by Sodexo/Department Cashier Guidelines.
• Assists with problem resolution and promotes a cooperative atmosphere.

Requirements

• Knowledgeable in proper operation of kitchen equipment.
• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work well within a team environment, accepting and offering constructive feedback.
• Flexibility and adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands.

Nice-to-haves

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• One year of cooking experience.
