About the position

Century Fields at Century Villa is adding to their Dietary Team!! The Dietary Aide position is part-time, working from 11am to 7pm. The role involves assisting with the provision of safe, healthy, and appetizing food services to meet the needs and preferences of each resident.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with preparation and provision of food and snacks to resident(s) per diet cards and/or other documented individualized plan for resident(s).
  • Prepares supplies/materials for tray line; assembles, loads and delivers diet trays per diet cards and/or other documented plan tailored to resident(s).
  • Provides set-up assistance for resident(s); reports refusal(s) of food to supervisor and nursing; serves food substitutes; retrieves and reloads trays on cart at end of meal service.
  • Observes proper safety practices including operating institutional food preparation equipment according to equipment instructions.
  • Uses personal protective equipment as necessary; safely and properly handles, unloads, stocks and stores food.
  • Safely uses and stores chemicals; follows infection control procedures.
  • Maintains clean, safe and hygienic food service workspace including regular cleaning of equipment, trays, dishes, trash, and other items.
  • Regularly inspects for and reports evidence of pests; timely and properly reports injuries and/or incidents.
  • Complies with OSHA mandates and workplace safety practices.
  • Assists with quality assessment and assurance functions as directed.
  • Maintains proper documentation including nutritional screening, food preferences, and food acceptance.
  • Assists with survey processes as directed.
  • Maintains and applies current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.
  • Carries out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and facility policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to speak, understand and read the English language to the extent necessary to safely and properly care for residents.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Assists with the development and update of food service policies and procedures as directed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Meets state and federal requirements.
