About the position
The Medium/Heavy Duty Service Technician at TransEdge Truck Centers is responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical failures in trucks and related equipment. This role involves disassembly, repair, and reassembly of various truck components, ensuring all work is completed accurately and in compliance with safety standards. The technician will utilize technical publications and dealer management systems to assist in repairs and maintain certifications as required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and other failures in trucks and related equipment.
- Perform disassembly, repair, and reassembly of truck engines, transmissions, and other components.
- Use precision instruments and shop machines to complete work accurately and timely.
- Read and understand technical publications and service manuals to assist in repairs.
- Determine usability of component parts and order necessary parts using the dealer management system.
- Write detailed descriptions of all work performed using the dealer management system.
- Adhere to OSHA and company safety regulations during all work activities.
- Achieve and maintain required certifications as mandated by the company or federal law.
Requirements
- High School Diploma desired.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a mechanic.
- Ability to read and write in English and understand computer-generated reports.
- Experience with diesel engine repair for at least 1 year is required.
- Good interpersonal skills to interact positively with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Ability to operate various computer diagnostic devices, PCs, and laptops.
