In addition to hands-on mechanical work, the Diesel Mechanic Foreman will utilize diagnostic tools and software, such as Noregon and Autometer, to conduct preventative maintenance and execute work orders efficiently. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repairing equipment, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standards of safety and quality. The role may also involve leading a team of mechanics, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety protocols. Candidates must be prepared to work shifts as assigned, which may include occasional weekends and overtime. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory, and familiarity with hand tools and power tools is required. The position also demands a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment, as well as a willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fleet and daily maintenance on diesel equipment.
  • Execute basic preventative maintenance tasks such as tire changes and oil changes.

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to conduct preventative maintenance and execute work orders.

Requirements

  • Five years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required.
  • Basic understanding of internal combustion engines, hydraulic and air brake systems.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly and repair.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills for diagnostics and work order execution.
  • DOT inspection experience is a plus.
