The Berks County Division, located in Reading, PA, is currently searching for a Diesel Mechanic due to growth.

Requirements

Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferable experience.
Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment.
Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals.
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software.
A valid driver’s license.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance on trucks and construction equipment, including auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures.
Analyze and safely resolve problems.
Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics.
Complete machine shop operations; make adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
Special projects and other job duties as assigned.
