About the position

The Mobile Diesel Technician at Torque by Ryder is responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy-duty trucks. This permanent, full-time position offers a structured work schedule with no on-call duties, allowing technicians to focus on delivering high-quality service. The role includes performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines and related systems, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance and repair issue resolution.
• Coordinate work schedules as required by customers.
• Road test vehicles to identify causes of complaints and ensure quality of repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs, including A/C, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Complete repair orders using company established systems.
• Maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
• Work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing workload effectively.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools required for the job.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred.
• Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
• Ability to understand and adhere to company policies.

Nice-to-haves

• Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications preferred.
• Experience with advanced skilled level repairs including major engine repairs and diesel after treatment.
