About the position

Graphic Packaging International is seeking candidates to join our Cutting Department as a Cutting Operator. This position is part of a folding carton manufacturing operation where employees can advance their careers through on-the-job training and job progression. The Cutting Operator will prepare paperboard for the cutter, assist the pressman, and ensure that business operations align with customer expectations and company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Make Ready the press
• Running for production - maintaining proper sheet registration and proper cut and scoring
• Proper press maintenance and lubrication
• Required quality checklist
• Housekeeping & AIB
• Responsible for SAP / Peak reporting (if applicable)

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Operator experience
• Mechanically inclined
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables
