About the position

As a Dialysis Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will play a crucial role in providing care and treatment to patients with renal failure. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality dialysis treatment and patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care during dialysis treatment.
  • Gather patient statistics before and after treatment.
  • Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatment.
  • Collect patient blood samples as per physician orders.
  • Prepare and clean dialysis machines, ensuring they are disinfected after use.
  • Conduct machine safety checks and log results for quality control.
  • Adhere to safety measures and use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education offerings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Desire to work in healthcare and care for patients.
  • Previous healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is preferred.
  • Comfortable mixing acids and bicarbonate according to protocol.
  • Ability to distinguish all primary colors.
  • Successful completion of USRC training program approved by the Medical Director within 8 weeks of hire.
  • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as required by the state.
  • Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in phlebotomy is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a CNA is a plus.
