DevOps Engineer - Boston
About The Position
Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team and help build, maintain, and scale the infrastructure and tools that empower their developers to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing services. This role is ideal for an experienced Platform Engineer, or a Software Engineer with a passion for Platform and Developer Experience. The Platform function at Perk builds the foundations that the rest of the company depends on, owning the shared infrastructure, core services, and developer tooling. They solve hard, systemic problems, make deliberate trade-offs, and hold themselves accountable for the long-term health of the platform. Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience managing systems in AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.)
- Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Experience with containerisation and container orchestration (Docker, ECS, etc.)
- Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Go, or Bash)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in distributed systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Windows systems and .NET applications
- Experience with serverless architectures
- Experience with defining advanced cloud networking setups
- Familiarity with SOC2, ISO 27001, or other compliance frameworks
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure in AWS
- Enable development teams to be owners of their systems and to deliver high impact products to our users
- Partner with SRE and security teams to help developers build resilient and secure applications
- Participate in our on-call and incident management process as part of a “you build it, you run it” mentality
